ACE P&C Medicare Supplement: What to Know In 2023

ACE P&C Medicare Supplement: What to Know In 2023

When exploring your Medicare Supplement options, understanding the carriers offered in your area can help you make a more informed coverage decision.

Today, we’re going to be taking a closer look at Medicare Supplement plans from ACE Property & Casualty Insurance Company, a Chubb company.

What is an ACE P&C Medicare Supplement?

Like other Medicare Supplements, ACE Property and Casualty Insurance Company's new product helps fill coverage gaps in your original Medicare Parts A and B.

The plan comes from a trusted insurance carrier who understands and proudly strives to meet the needs of its customers.

These products are available in the most popular Medicare Supplement plan types — A, F, G and N — offering valuable flexibility to better serve your unique needs.

It’s important to remember that federal law mandates that all Medicare Supplement plans are standardized. This means that the benefits for each plan type are the same, regardless of what carrier you choose.

However, while benefits might be standardized, the premiums are not. So be sure to carefully review your options before selecting a carrier.

How does an ACE P&C Medicare Supplement differ from other Medicare Supplements?

While Medicare Supplements offer standardized coverage, there are a few areas where plans can differ.

ACE Medicare Supplement Rating

ACE Medicare Supplement is actually the only Medicare Supplement carrier in our portfolio with an A++ Rating from A.M. Best. This rating stands for Superior, and it's the highest rating you can achieve.

This essentially means that ACE is very financially secure, which can be a great feeling if you choose to buy a policy from them.

Underwriting

Underwriting is a series of medical questions asked by the insurance company to determine eligibility and determine pricing structure.

ACE plans are underwritten by ACE P&C Insurance Company, which has a reputation for fair pricing and fantastic customer service. ACE plans have no waiting period for preexisting conditions, meaning that you are covered once you are enrolled.

When it comes to ACE Medicare Supplement underwriting guidelines, the company is very similar to other Medigap carriers on the market.

There is a height and weight chart, which is pretty standard, and if you fall outside of the limits, you won't be eligible for coverage. Keep in mind if you are signing up for Medicare for the first time, you typically do not need to answer any health questions, and acceptance into a Medigap plan is guaranteed.

Uninsurable health conditions include AIDS, Alzheimer's Disease, Chronic asthma, Emphysema, use of supplemental oxygen or a nebulizer, and diabetes with more than 50 units of insulin per day or requiring 3 or more medications (oral or injection) to control blood sugar. This list is not comprehensive, but it's also very standard when it comes to Medigap underwriting.

Don't worry about your health status or acceptance – that's what we are for! We can help you find a plan that fits your needs and budget, and you may not even have to answer health questions after all.

Price

The other key difference is price. ACE offers competitive pricing to help you ensure you are getting great value.

One of the unique features of ACE Medicare Supplement plans is their household premium discount, which can help lower costs for eligible participants.

Individual rates and underwriting success can depend on a variety of factors, including your health and where you live.

At Medicare Allies, we are dedicated to helping you find the right Medicare Supplement for your specific needs.

To sum up? Here’s what ACE P&C can offer you:

  • Household premium discounts may be available for eligible applicants
  • Competitive rates — get great value and friendly service
  • No waiting period for preexisting conditions — you’re covered once you're enrolled

Is ACE a good Medicare Supplement option?

At Medicare Allies, we try to avoid generalized statements about coverage options. There are simply too many variables and different situations to take into account when considering your Medicare Supplement options.

What is great for one person might be the exact opposite for their spouse or neighbor, which is why we run a personalized quote for each and every client.

What we will say is that ACE is worth looking into, especially if you want a plan with household discounts or low-hassle coverage for preexisting conditions. No matter what your options are, we can help you navigate plans and find a great plan that meets your circumstances.

Does Medicare Allies recommend ACE Medicare Supplement plans?

We recommend whatever plan gives you the best rates and benefits for your area. ACE Medicare Supplement can be a great option for many because of their trusted reputation, household discount and coverage of preexisting conditions.

They also have excellent service and have been fantastic to work with, which really matters if you have an issue along the way.

However, no Medigap plan is one-size-fits-all, and we are more than happy to help you explore your options and select coverage that would best fit your unique situation.

Conclusion

ACE offers affordable Medicare Supplements in popular plan types, like Plan G and Plan N. Their coverage for preexisting conditions and affordability makes it a compelling choice for those looking for supplemental coverage.
