A Simple Guide to the 2021 Annual Enrollment Period for Medicare

From October 15-December 7, you have the opportunity to make changes to your Medicare drug plan and Medicare Advantage plan. Here's everything you need to know.

Reminder! The Medical Annual Enrollment Periods ends December 7 – make changes to your health and drug plans before it's over!

Transcript:

From October 15 to December 7, you have the opportunity to make changes to your Medicare drug plan and Medicare Advantage plan. This window of opportunity is called the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP).

Reviewing your healthcare plans during AEP can:

  1. Save you money on your health and drug coverage
  2. Make sure your favorite doctors will be in your network next year
  3. Help you compare next year’s benefits to other plan options
  4. Remind you to make important changes, like address changes or beneficiary adjustments

We are excited to help all of our clients review their health and plans this year.

Last year, Medicare’s online plan finder system got a redesign - we encourage you to register for a myMedicare.gov account. We can also help you do that if you reach out to us. This account allows you to build and modify your drug list based on medications you’ve filled throughout the year, and it’s a huge help to us when we go to find you the best drug plan.

Because of COVID-19, all of our communications are going to be over the phone this year. We want to keep our clients safe, so we’re taking every precaution.

Be prepared for a lot of commercials advertising free dental and vision benefits. Private Medicare Advantage plans tend to advertise a lot during AEP, and while their extra benefits are nice, it’s more important to focus on the main plan benefits. Plan availability varies by county, so give us a call at 833-801-7999 to compare your options.

Remember that your Medicare Supplement is not affected by this enrollment period. Your policy review is based on your policy anniversary date, and we keep an eye on your rates all year long.

We can’t wait to help you this fall! Give us a call at 833-801-7999 or visit our website to schedule an appointment today.
